Eleven years ago this month, we adopted Lena from her wonderful foster parents, Rachel and Michael. Lena and her sister, Vita, were being starved by a previous owner and thankfully removed from that home and placed in a shelter. Rachel and Michael found them there and loved the sweet girls back to health. They wound up keeping Vita and we've kept in touch over the years, swapping pictures of the sisters and having an occasional dinner. Six months ago Vita died unexpectedly and it hit us hard, especially since we've been aware of Lena aging now more than ever.
They came to dinner a couple weeks ago and Michael mentioned that before we had adopted her, he had taken Lena on the local morning news show here in LA, where they have a regular animal adoption segment. (What?!) They just sent it to us and I thought you might like to see one minute of puppy Lena:)
My friend Susan said it's remarkable that our child star grew up to be so normal:)
Happy Saturday:)
